It really is a tough argument to take a home game away from someone who earns it but I can see the benefit of having good facilities that are capable of hosting something and making more of an event out of it. Agree though that if you do it for one, you should do it for all.

Curious though why Jason is so upset about it now, oh wait, isn't Gate City a top seed right now

I'm from lebanon, and we are not top seed, but I still think it should go to the top seed. You do get to see 2 games the way it is now, but personally I go to see my team 1st and I'm no worried as much about the other game. Being said I would ten to one much rather have the game at home, it just makes for a much better atmosphere and especially for the team that earned it.

Even if this works it wont be moved this year so if GC is still top seed and playing then they still have to go there. If you go back and look you will see I have been dead set against it since the whole mess started.

It wont. Online petitions are the equivalent of PETA protests of the beef industry. If you haven't noticed beef sales aren't plummeting. Anyone can start one and anyone can put anyones name. If it's something you feel that strongly about more power to you though and good luck.

And GC was top seed last year also Rock. I've always thought it was pretty bad to be top seed and have to travel to UVAW for the region championship and the visitor seating is terrible (and I don't enjot standing or sitting on the fround the entire game). If the top seed wants to have the game there it's one thing. If they don't? Let them host. They will be hosting the semis if it's their rotation anyway. I also hate the idea of VHS hosting BB. It's an absolute mess to have 4 games being played.

It's high school sports, they get nothing right. This may sound ****y but I honest to God believe I could come up with a much better qualification system for the playoffs in each sport than what we have now. The fact that they rotate who plays who in baseball/softball is a **** joke. UVa-Wise hosting a regional football game should not happen, it's now the only part of the football playoffs that are not played on a high school field. The fact that Lebanon can play the semi-final games on their home floor as a lower seed against another team is a joke, the same can be said for Castlewood, and Virginia High. I actually have a much bigger problem with this than the football, at least the football games are on a somewhat neutral field, there is nothing neutral about playing VHS at VHS regardless of who wears the white jerseys.

If I get bored I may sit down and research this some more and make a huge post on how to rectify a lot of this bs.

I actually like the games at UVAW, it gives them a faster feel, a better ballgame.
GC people complain about the UVAW seating, but what about GC's seating?
You think the vistors like having to come sit infiltrated with GC people?
It goes both ways.
UVAW lacks some visitor seats, but so does GC.

I think the GC fans are going to do that at UVA Wise this year too if we are fortunate to play for the Regional Title. Wont that be a mess?

They are not played on anything that resembles UVA-Wises field. Plus 4 of the 6 state titles this year will be played on grass. Only Group A, or AA I cant remember which will be played on field turf.

I personally like the finals being played at the college. I just think the all around atmosphere during the Regional Finals is awesome with a double header like they have had it over the past couple of years.

Of course I can see some peoples grip with it, especially if some teams will have to travel say 45-60 miles to play a home playoff game that they would like to have at their own place. Home playoff games are special IMO, especially for seniors.
